Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, issued an order Thursday to put a halt on all Council of Ministers budget expenses for Christmas cards and gifts.

The order comes on the heels of an earlier decision of the PM banning expenses for flowers and coffee for State guests. The latest ban includes cards, promotional materials, calendars, gifts, and parties, among others.

The order aims at eliminating unfounded budget expenses and further includes all committees and agencies affiliated with the Council of Ministers, the government hospital and the National Compensatory Housing Fund.

Borisov also insist that the Ministries and the District Governors refrain from similar expenses, the Council of Ministers press center reports.
