Serbia has snubbed Romania's demands for compensations after a huge oil slick from Prahovo port polluted the Danube river.
"It is true that the oil slick came to Romania from Serbia, but we will have to identify first the origin of the pollution," Serbia's Capital Investment Minister Velimir Ilic said.
"The Danube flows through a number of other countries, not only through Serbia. It is still arguable where the oil spill came from originally," Ilic said.
In the meantime Bulgaria's Ambassador to Belgrade commented that it is too early to discuss the damages issue.
Bulgaria continues the operation for the localization and gathering of the oil spill on the Danube, which started a day earlier.
