Snow has started falling in the south Bulgarian resort Pamporovo in the Rhodope Mountain.
The temperatures at the Rozhen peak in the mountain are already below zero but there is still no thick blanket of snow there, local meteorologists said.
It is expected that the prophylactic of the ski lifts in the resort will have finished by December and they will start functioning for tourists.
The accommodation capacity of the Pamporovo resort will increase by 1,500 beds, a local hotel association said.
The part of Pamporovo, which is in the Chepelare Municipality, will see the opening of the winter season with 6,000 beds.
The construction works on new hotels in the area have to be terminated by the end of November.
