Hurricane winds stormed the biggest part of Bulgaria's territory on Tuesday, leaving country's three main ports, local meteorological stations report.

Because of the winds the three main Bulgarian ports, Burgas and Varna on the Black Sea and the Russe port on the Danube River, had to be closed.

The strong wind is caused by the transference of warm air in the southeast part of a powerful cyclone that will determine the weather in the country for the next 72 hours.

Now the wind hits harder the parts on the northern hills of mountains but in the next 24 hours it will change its direction and will reorient itself to southeast and east. The wind speed at the moment is between 15 and 21 m/s and it is expected to grow, Konstantin Tsankov, head of the National Meteorology Institute informed.

In the night before Wednesday dense clouds will appear above Bulgaria and intensive precipitations are expected to occur, Tsankov said.

The hurricane winds made many fires, provoked by the unusually hot weather, to go out of the control of fire fighters.
